MST uses a strength-based model to build upon the positive skills the family is already utilizing. MST’s interventions aim to improve caregiver parenting skills through developing discipline strategies, to strengthen positive relationships among family members, to increase pro-social activities for youth, to improve youth’s performance in school, and to develop a strong network of supports for the youth and family to help caregivers maintain positive changes

We are committed to providing high-quality and easily accessible mental health services for all of our clients, particularly those residing in rural communities or those who face transportation or other barriers to receiving the support they need. Telehealth Counseling provides convenient, affordable, and readily accessible mental health services, via live, interactive videoconferencing with licensed Therapists. Specifically, the Placement Diversion Program is designed for youth who are assessed to be at risk of out-of-home placement due to emotional, behavioral, and familial problems and the Family Reunification Program supports the transition of youth from out-of-home placement into the family, school, and community. The Placement Diversion/Family Reunification Program (PD/FRP) supports families with at-risk youth as a result of juvenile offenses and related risk factors. There is over a decade of data demonstrating successful outcomes for youth and families at a reduced cost to stakeholders.Family Reunification Program and Placement Diversion services can be combined to provide flexibility to the stakeholder when determining the youth and families to be served. In addition, comprehensive case management services are provided to ensure that families are connected to available community resources to support their efforts to maintain the child in the home. The program works with families by using research driven intervention from both Solution Focused Therapy and Structural Family Therapy to identify and intervene in barriers to healthy family functioning. We strive to reduce risk factors, including decreased family conflict, decreased permissive or authoritarian parenting styles, decreased negative peer relationships, decreased school problems, and decreased youth impulsive behaviors. Our goal is to increase protective factors, including improved family relationships, improved parenting skill, increasing positive peer interactions, improving school participation, and improving youth self-regulation skills. The mission of the program is to reunite children with their families and provide the services necessary to decrease continued juvenile offenses, prevent further placement outside the home, and support the family to maintain long-term stability.
